Job Details:

  • Location: North Bay, ON
  • Salary: $20.00 to $26.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 40 hours per week
  • Type of Employment: Permanent, Full-time (Day)

Qualifications Necessary:

  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years
  • Experience: Experience is considered an asset

Responsibilities of the Job:

  • Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts.
  • Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables.
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments.
  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
  • Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools.
  • Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.

Credentials:

  • Machinist Trade Certification

Experience and Specialization:

  • Proficient in using measuring tools such as micrometers, callipers, gauges, and verniers.
  • Experienced with milling machines and the operation of CNC machines.

Work Conditions:
Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely. The environment is fast-paced, and tasks can be repetitive, requiring standing for extended periods with a need for attention to detail.
