Responsibilities:
- Collect data to identify areas for improvement within an organization’s IT infrastructure
- Document customers’ requirements for projects
- Document reporting needs, queries, logic, results, and recommendations for other information systems professionals
- Implement measures to ensure unauthorized users cannot access data
- Set up the IT infrastructure to allow applications to access databases
- Test data models and database management systems
- Operate database management systems to analyze data
- Develop and implement data administration policies, standards, and models
- Research and document data requirements, data collection and administration policies, and data access rules
- Develop policies and procedures for network access, usage, and for data backup and recovery
- Lead and coordinate teams of data administrators in developing and implementing data policies, standards, and models
