Requirements:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 5 years or more in carpentry, particularly in renovation
Responsibilities:
- Prepare estimates of labor and/or material costs
- Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
- Prepare layouts in compliance with building codes using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware
- Schedule and coordinate work on sites and instruct apprentices
- Supervise other workers and maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings
Work Conditions:
- Work must be completed on-site; there is no option to work remotely
- Environment includes working at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors
- Must handle physically demanding tasks and work with minimal supervision
Transportation:
- Own transportation and valid driver’s license required
- Travel expenses paid by the employer
