Overview:

Work Environment:

Responsibilities:

  • Address customers’ complaints or concerns with professionalism
  • Drive lighter, special purpose trucks
  • Load and unload goods
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
  • Ensure the safety and security of cargo through tarping
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods

Credentials:

  • AZ Class License
  • DZ Class License
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
  • Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) Certificate
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate

Experience and Specialization:

  • Knowledge of documentation including accident or incident reports, bills of lading, driver logbooks, and maintenance reports
  • Experience with dry bulk, flatbed, straight truck (4,600 kg+ or 10,000 lbs+ with 3+ axles), and tractor-trailer
  • Familiarity with GPS and other navigation equipment
