Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
- Prepare layouts in compliance with building codes using various measuring tools.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Construct foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect wall and roof systems.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
- Schedule and coordinate work activities on construction sites.
- Survey building locations and levels to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and other wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.
Work Environment:
- This position requires on-site work in various locations, including construction, renovation, commercial, and residential projects.
- The work environment may be noisy, dusty, and physically demanding, requiring tasks such as bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads.
Qualifications:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in carpentry or construction is preferred.
