Key Responsibilities
As a Carpenter, your primary duties will include:
- Preparing layouts in compliance with building codes using precise measuring tools.
- Measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware.
- Surveying building locations and levels to ensure accuracy.
- Estimating costs and materials required for projects.
- Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.
Qualifications
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate required.
Experience: Will train; prior experience in carpentry is an asset but not mandatory.
Skills Required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and installations.
- Ability to handle heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Reliability and punctuality in completing work assignments.
- Client-focused with a commitment to quality workmanship.
Additional Information
- Candidates must be bondable and able to work on-site.
- This role requires bending, crouching, kneeling, and a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
