Key Responsibilities
As a Baker, your primary duties will include:
- Preparing dough for pies, bread, rolls, sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, as well as icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
- Requisitioning or ordering materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Baking mixed dough and batters to perfection.
- Training staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
- Preparing special orders and supervising baking personnel and kitchen staff.
- Frosting and decorating cakes and baked goods.
- Drawing up production schedules and scheduling staff.
- Ensuring that the quality of products meets established standards.
- Inspecting kitchen and food service areas and operating machinery.
- Organizing and maintaining inventory, overseeing sales, and merchandising of baked goods.
- Preparing dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
Qualifications
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
Experience: 1 to less than 2 years of experience in a baking role.
Skills Required
- Ability to distinguish between colors and a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Additional Information
- Basic security clearance is required.
- Overtime may be required.
