St. Lawrence Cafe is a vibrant coffee shop in the heart of Toronto, known for its exceptional coffee and welcoming atmosphere. We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Barista to join our team. If you are passionate about coffee and customer service, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
As a Barista, your primary duties will include:
- Preparing and serving a variety of coffee and tea beverages.
- Taking customers’ orders and providing excellent customer service.
- Bringing clean dishes, flatware, and other items to serving areas and setting tables.
- Clearing and cleaning tables, trays, and chairs to maintain a tidy environment.
- Operating dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.
- Replenishing condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas.
- Keeping records of the quantities of food used and portioning and wrapping foods.
- Removing kitchen garbage and trash, and sweeping, mopping, and washing floors.
- Washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruit as needed.
- Greeting patrons, presenting menus, and answering questions regarding food and beverages.
Qualifications
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Barista or in food service is an asset.
Skills Required
- Strong client focus and efficient interpersonal skills.
- Reliability and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Initiative and a positive attitude.
Additional Information
- A Safe Food Handling certificate is preferred but can be acquired after hiring.
- Public transportation is available to the work location.
