Key Responsibilities
As a Legal Assistant, your primary duties will include:
- Coordinating the flow of information and ensuring effective communication within the office.
- Opening and distributing regular and electronic incoming mail and other materials.
- Scheduling and confirming appointments for clients and attorneys.
- Maintaining an organized filing system for legal documents and correspondence.
- Establishing office procedures and routines to improve efficiency.
- Arranging travel itineraries and making reservations as needed.
- Preparing financial statements and reports.
- Reviewing and proofreading legal documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures and grammatical accuracy.
- Performing basic bookkeeping tasks as necessary.
Qualifications
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in a legal or administrative role.
Skills Required
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and QuickBooks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage tight deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle a large caseload.
Additional Information
- A criminal record check will be required.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
