Key Responsibilities
As a School Bus Driver, your primary duties will include:
- Operating buses, school buses, or streetcars to transport passengers safely.
- Providing passengers with information on fares, schedules, and stops.
- Reporting any delays, mechanical problems, and accidents to the appropriate authorities.
- Directing passengers during emergency evacuation procedures.
- Completing logbooks and reports accurately.
- Performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
Qualifications
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant experience as a bus driver is preferred.
Credentials
- Licenses: Air Brake (Z) Endorsement and a valid Driver’s License (Class 2, B, or C) are required.
Skills Required
- Ability to distinguish between colors and pay attention to detail.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and excellent oral communication skills.
- Client-focused with efficient interpersonal skills.
- Reliability and the ability to work as part of a team.
Additional Information
- A criminal record check, driving record check, drug test, medical exam, and vulnerable sector check will be required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel.
- Travel expenses will be paid by the employer.
