Key Responsibilities
As a Car Mechanic, your primary duties will include:
- Inspecting and testing mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
- Testing automotive systems and components to ensure proper functioning.
- Adjusting, repairing, or replacing parts and components of automotive systems.
- Estimating parts and labor costs required for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Testing and adjusting units to manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications
- Education: Other trades certificate or diploma in automotive service.
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant experience in automotive repair.
- Credentials: Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification and Tire, Wheel and Rim Mechanic certification are preferred.
Skills Required
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various automotive systems (engine repair, electrical systems, brakes, etc.).
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have own tools and equipment, including steel-toed safety boots.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
