About the Employer:
MC-Bauchemie Canada Inc. is seeking a skilled Underground Labourer to join our team. This position is classified as a green job, contributing to positive environmental outcomes and helping Canada achieve its net-zero target. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-operational inspections of equipment.
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements and project specifications.
  • Instruct apprentices and guide them in their tasks.
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt.
  • Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites.
  • Perform routine maintenance work on equipment and tools.
  • Remove rubble and debris from construction sites to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Adjust equipment, valves, pumps, and controls as necessary.
  • Assist in the development of chemical engineering processes and related studies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in construction or a related field.
  • Language: Proficiency in English is required.
  • Certifications: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training, Confined Space Entry Training, WHMIS Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Working at Heights training, and a valid Driver’s License (Class 1 or A).

Equipment and Machinery Experience:
Candidates should have experience with the following equipment:

  • Concrete vibrators, pumpcretes, grouting machines, chippers, air compressors, drills, small front-end loaders, sandblasters, and hand tools.

Workplace Information:

  • This position requires on-site work; remote work is not an option.
  • The employer provides a vehicle for work-related travel and covers travel expenses.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail are essential.
  • Capable of handling weights up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
